Why they are created
"Nowe Pogłosy"
/New Echos/?
The academic community is full of people with interesting voices who can give previous decades' songs new expressive power. To develop this potential, they need not only a stage but also time to work, discussions with experienced musicians, and professional preparation.
From this conviction, New Speeches – a joint initiative – is being created. Poznań Science and Technology Park and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Its goal is to support young performers by working with their musical heritage and creating conditions in which an important performance can become the beginning of a further artistic path.
The goal of the festival is to promote student creativity and integrate the academic community through active participation in culture.
Songs that continue to resonate
Philosophy of the festival
„Rumor” We understand it as more than just an acoustic phenomenon. It is the trace that the encounter between the performer and the audience leaves behind: a remembered interpretation, inspiration for the next performance, the beginning of a conversation or collaboration.
„New” There are voices, interpretations, and relationships that arise around music. The repertoire comes from the past, but it meets the contemporary sensitivity of the performers. The motto „Songs that carry on” describes this continuity: the works of earlier generations reach out to subsequent listeners. It is not a matter of imitating well-known performances, but of a conscious interpretation.
"Nowe Pogłosy"
For whom is the festival intended?
The festival is aimed at students – soloists from art and non-artistic universities from all over Poland. They share an interest in song and a willingness to work on their own performance. Participants perform only works from the past. The festival does not allow the presentation of the participants’ own compositions. The space for individual expression is the interpretation of the existing repertoire.
