On October 1, 2026, on International Music Day, we will start promoting the first edition of the New Sounds National Student Song Festival.
New Sounds is a joint initiative of the Poznań Science and Technology Park and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. We create the festival with the intention of helping students develop their vocal skills and discover their own way of interpreting musical pieces.
From today, the official festival website is online, and on social media we are launching a series of materials about the idea of the event, the rules for applying, and the people who will accompany the participants in the next stages.
Past repertoire, contemporary sensitivity
The participants perform only works from the past – the festival does not allow the presentation of original compositions. The space for individual expression is the interpretation of the existing repertoire: new sounds, new emotions, and a new context for songs that we have known for generations.
It is not about imitating famous performances, but about a conscious interpretation.
