During the meeting of the Vice-Rectors for Student Affairs and Education, held within the framework of the KRUP University Education Commission at the University of Silesia in Katowice, the concept of the Nationwide Student Song Festival „New Sounds” was officially presented.
The idea and mission of the event were presented by the Director of the Festival representing Poznań Science and Technology Park – Prof. UAM Dr. Hab. Dominika Narożna at the invitation of the Chairperson of the Commission, Prof. Dr. Hab. Joanna Wójcik.
What exactly did we talk about in Katowice?
We presented our idea of refreshing the musical classics from past decades and handing them over to (and the votes of) students who will give them a completely new sound. We also discussed enabling students to gain professional experience and support, as well as shaping the grand finale, including a live performing Festival Orchestra and financial prizes.
Why was this meeting so important for us?
Thanks to its presence on the KRUP forum, the news about „New Gossip” has a chance to reach universities in every corner of Poland. We want to reach the most talented students – regardless of which city they study in – and give them the space to make their debut on a truly large stage.
